i must say, CEBU was the #1 place here in philippines that i wanted to see most. So when i found out that ill be going there for my ojt, there's an overwhelwing feeling inside me.
magellan's cross
honestly,i was a little bit dissapointed coz i never thought that its not as big as i was imaging and seeing it in pics and on tv. but the thought that ive already been on that place makes me feel satisfied:)) i was so curious until now bout the old ladies there who wears unusual clothes and selling candles.. anyways, going to cebu is not worth it if you missed to go here.
cebu port authority
being on the port is great, but not always, there were some point which mades me feel away from the civilalization. #1 rule, no hardhat no entry for the employees!! the port terminal was good as well as the shuttle bus. the security is well observed. i must say, cebu port is very much nicer that here in manila.....(sorry to say)
toledo
i wasnt familiar on that place before, until i had a chance of going there. going there is not easy, its a matter of twists and turns. its in the mountain, zigzag roads, riding in the bus, thats how they transport there, but one time, we had a little rush that we have to be on cebu city for an hour, it was too impossile coz the estimated time of travelling was for 2hrs(taking the bus). to my surprise, we ended up riding in a single motorcycle. i thought im gonna die that time, luckily i wasnt and we made it, we just travelled for an hour. haha.. great experience though. perfect place for sight seeing, good people, + good culture:)
lapu-lapu
it was nice to go there from cebu, coz you have to ride on a ferry.it would just cost 13php/ride. 5-10mins travel in water. ive been there for almost 3x lang, but i can totally say its a must place to be din. there's a church, actually i forgot the name, but its memorable for me coz that church implements the dress code properly. i wasnt able to enter there, when we first go there, i was wearing shorts kase. there were street tianges, and oh the market, it looks so primative yet so nice. we strolled there. and i enjoyed it much.
the city itself
looking @ the street when i first step on cebu, is strange. ive been dreaming of beeing there for years and honestly, for some points it dissapoints me. i thought its very much different from manila, but its almost the same. what makes it different is the LANGUAGE, yea i was amazed that very few of the cebuanos can speak tagalog w/c mades my life there miserable. because of that i have to study and learn their dialect w/c is somehow exciting in the end. also i found out that there were also somes squatters area in the city itself. but what makes me amazed was how they preserve the primitive look of the entire city. the old buildings as well as the establishments. its really pleasing to my eyes. its like living in the old era. also, im having fun seeing the "puso"/hanging rice in every food stalls. basta everything seems to be nice din naman and im looking forward to see cebu AGAIN:))
LEYTE
ive known this place ever since, but i never thought that ill love this place since i had a chance of being there.
HILONGOS
black but fine sand, rich sealife creatures, smilling people, clean and very organized community, i think thats how i can describe it, HILONGOS. di uso ang sasakyan, everybody walks, mostly. or kame lang coz were having fun doing it. ive almost stay there for that whole six months.
GUINSAUGON
i never thought that ill be in this place, all i know bout was that this place was been vanished by a huge landslide. and i witness itself how it looked like. from a far, you can see a big whole from the mountain. it creeps me alot though. as a remembrance i took a piece of stone that was originally came from the land area of it. also after that, we went on a falls, i think the name of it is "hindag-an", im not sure bout the name but im pretty much sure that, that was the first time i saw a falls.. :))
BAYBAY
the first time i saw this place, i was really mesmerized. cguro nka 100x kung sinabe na "shet ang ganda dito". if i have to choice one place here in leyte, i would probably bet this place. it takes 2 1/2 hours from hilongos to be on this place. pero sulit once you see their sceneries. the port area, the parks the old church they had, basta everythings perfectly beautiful. unfortunately i havent taken any pic from there coz by that time, i dont have any camera:( ive been there for 2times ata..
CARIGARA
from hilongos, we travelled almost half day/10hrs + road accident(lol) just to be on that part of leyte. i almost had buttsore due to too much sitting. haha. but every pain and boredom was worth it when we reached the destination. i was really exhausted but i managed to tour on the place. almost every house was made out of wood, also in primative look. sliding wooden windows and doors, trees all over the streets, not so fine roads, but its too much fun talaga. we just stayed for a night and the day after we need to tavel back coz we have to attend on our ship duties! i must say its the most exhausting trip i had there.
MAASIN
ive been on that place once, and i hate myself for not going back there before i headed manila. its a strange but nice place to be with. we drove almost 3-4hours from hilongos to be there. it was night so i wasnt able to see the sight. all i can remember is that we head into a very narrow road, its really dark out that the only light i could see outside is our headlight. i felt scared that time, but to my surprise, after heading that ridiculuos street, was a very nice place. nice big houses, smooth roads, a fiesting community, its their fiesta pala. i never thought that ill be on that place, ansaya nun grabe, + the fact that our tummies were satisfied, wheew!! love it:))
MATALOM
ive been there for almost 5 times. from hilongos, we travelled just 30-50mins using a single motorcycle. its a mountain like community, the roads were really bad, good thing our rider is a good one. from there, i got a chance to really interact w/ the nature. we hiked throught the mountains, swimmed in the falls and even eaten the things ive never tried before. look for my vid...
i must say, i totally invaded much on LEYTE than CEBU, and ive learned alot through those places ive been through. from the people to the cultures they have......
aikatz:))
